Tony Hawk, the renowned skateboarder, visited the newly expanded U.N. Skate Plaza in San Francisco, performing impressive tricks and praising its renovations. The park, originally opened in November 2023, received upgrades earlier this year to enhance the skating experience with new structures. Hawk's unannounced session thrilled onlookers, and it was a nostalgic moment as he noted the park's significance in his skating history. Hawk’s visit coincided with the upcoming release of his new video game, which will feature San Francisco as a key environment.
"The UN Skate Plaza recently got an upgrade! If you build it, we will come... do vert tricks (and sloppy kickflips) on banks and curbs."
"We were as excited as everyone else to see it," she told the site.
