Taco Bell Cantina opens at SF's Fisherman's Wharf, bringing energy and visitors
"I think this is kind of the appeal of this city. It's like, you know, how often you get to say you went to a grand opening of a Taco Bell Cantina? So here I am,"
"I'm so excited to be here, and they really put out the good stuff and some really fun stuff, having a DJ and everything,"
"We're trying to open up the waterfront again to our tourists, to our visitors. And anything that draws young people like this new institution here, it's going to be helpful,"
"Taco Bell Cantina brings energy. It's got an amazing culture. It's got an amazing following. It's young and vibrant, and it's something that just really showcases the brand and the community,"
Hundreds of fans lined up at Fisherman's Wharf for the grand opening of a new Taco Bell Cantina, featuring a DJ and festive programming. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie cut the ceremonial ribbon and emphasized the location's role in reopening the waterfront to tourists, visitors and younger crowds. The opening is part of a broader Fisherman's Wharf revitalization that includes demolition of the former Alioto's building, several upcoming major restaurants and a new plaza expected this summer. The franchise is operated by Diversified Restaurants Group, which owns more than 80 Taco Bell locations in Northern California. The franchisee characterized the Cantina as energetic, youthful and community-focused.
