""I didn't know how many people remembered me, and maybe that's not as big an issue as,"
Alex Bennett is an 86-year-old San Francisco–born broadcaster and podcaster living in New York City with a long Bay Area radio legacy. He worked at KQAK 98.9 FM ("Rock of the '80s"), KMEL 106.1 FM, and KITS 105.3 FM (Live 105), where he influenced alternative rock morning-show culture. Don Cornelius once did news for Bennett's Chicago AM program on 560 WIND. An SF Sketchfest tribute, "Alex Bennett & Friends: An SF Sketchfest Salute", was planned at Cobb's Comedy Club and sold out a first show; a second performance was added featuring longtime co-host Lori Thompson and regulars Will Durst, Larry "Bubbles" Brown, Bud E. Luv, and guest Bobby Slayton.
