On Tuesday, authorities identified the deceased as Brian Joseph Montana, 60, following a shooting incident in South San Francisco. Dispatchers had received reports of Montana threatening a neighbor while armed. Upon arrival, officers called for backup as Montana began shooting into an occupied residence. He fired multiple weapons from a driveway, prompting officers to take cover and return fire. Montana was struck and died at the scene, while one resident sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
