""We're going to doing something very special. We're making history," Hernandez explains, "we are going to have a lowrider parade on Mission Street with over 500 lowriders. It's a parade that'll be the first parade in the world.""
""About 3:30 in the morning on a Tuesday, I woke up and I thought about creating a lowrider taco and there's no such thing, " Hernadez says, "so here in San Francisco in the Mission, we're giving birth to the first lowrider taco.""
""He came up with the tortilla concept of using two tortillas, a soft tortilla on the bottom, and then a \"dorado\" one with melted cheese on it," Hernandaz recalls, " And then you add on the carne in there that's marinated in a special sauce with a couple special surprises and then a little bit of pineapple on the top to give it a sweet flavor.""
Roberto Y. Hernandez is organizing a lowrider parade on Mission Street expected to include over 500 lowriders and activate local businesses along Mission and 24th Streets. Hernandez conceived a signature lowrider taco in the early morning hours and collaborated with Miquel from La Corneta Taqueria to develop it. The taco uses two tortillas — a soft base plus a dorado tortilla with melted cheese — and contains carne marinated in a special sauce, additional surprises, and a topping of pineapple for sweetness. Businesses on Mission and 24th will offer specials for shoppers and diners during the event.
