The Laver Cup professional tennis event is set up at Chase Center in San Francisco with the iconic black court. Six top men's players from Europe will face six players from the rest of the world in Team Europe versus Team World matches. Founded in part by Roger Federer in 2017, the event includes players such as world number one Carlos Alcaraz and top-ranked American Taylor Fritz. The tournament runs Friday through Sunday and marks the Laver Cup's first West Coast edition. San Francisco officials and organizers emphasized the city, venue logistics, and fan interest. A local WNBA team relocated a playoff game because of the event.
