Position anchors three hours of weekday morning newscasts across linear and streaming platforms. Responsibilities include anchoring, writing original copy, copy editing scripts, reporting on local stories, and creating social media content. Candidate must excel at breaking news on the desk and in the field, shoot and edit video for linear and digital, and be proficient with handheld prosumer cameras. Required experience is 5+ years in a top 50 market, with excellent writing, solid news judgment, and ethical decision-making. Candidate must develop contacts, produce visually creative stories, use social media for gathering and promotion, represent the station at events, and work well under deadlines. Position is covered under the SAG-AFTRA KGO-TV Newspersons Agreement.
