Eileen Gu, an Olympic freestyle skiing gold medalist born and raised in San Francisco, has been named grand marshal of the city's 2026 Chinese New Year Parade. She is currently training for the upcoming Olympics and returned to San Francisco fresh off the slopes. Gu remembers attending the parade every year as a child and looks forward to lighting the fireworks, starting the parade, and reconnecting with the Asian community in San Francisco.
