Effective Tuesday, Golden Gate Bridge tolls will increase by 50 cents, raising the cost for most drivers to $10, while two-axle vehicles will pay $10.75. FasTrak customers will be charged $9.75, while pay-as-you-go account users will be charged $10. Discount fare programs will continue for Clipper users, seniors, youths, people with disabilities, and low-income riders participating in the Clipper START program. The new increases affect tolls for the Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit as well, with fares going up by 25 cents. Denis Mulligan, the district's general manager, noted that regular incremental increases are vital to avoid service cuts and maintain operations.
