The 2025-26 Concerts on the Corner season opens Sept. 14 with Mariachi Tapatio performing regional Mexican music rooted in the mariachi traditions of Jalisco. The performance begins at 3 p.m. at First Congregational Church of San Jose, 1980 Hamilton Ave., with free admission. The concert series will present a variety of musical performances for the Campbell and Willow Glen communities throughout the year. Bay Area Older Adults is offering several September outdoor events including a two-mile expert-led birding walk at Shoreline Lake Park on Sept. 10, a Guadalupe River Cleanup Day on Sept. 18, and a three-mile walk at Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge on Sept. 24. Transportation and lunch are provided for those events and registration is available online.

Birders can take a leisurely two-mile expert-led flat walk out at Shoreline Lake Park on Sept. 10, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., to see the shorebirds that inhabit the salt marsh, salt ponds, sloughs and mudflats. Binoculars can be borrowed. A Guadalupe River Cleanup Day is set for Sept. 18, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Volunteers should be prepared to be standing up for the duration of the event. Supplies and tools will be provided in addition to snacks, lunch and a bottle of water.
