Rose Pizzeria, a Berkeley favorite recognized by the New York Times, is expanding into San Francisco's Inner Richmond with plans to open by early 2026. The co-owners, Gerad Gobel and Alexis Rorabaugh, aim to fund the expansion through SMBX, allowing supporters to invest in small business bonds with a competitive 11.25% annual interest rate. Rose Pizzeria stands out for its 'Cal-Ital' approach to pizza using premium local ingredients. The restaurant has already seen significant revenue growth, boosting its presence from a small 750-square-foot space to a larger 1,700-square-foot location.
"We've been watching this space for over a year, waiting and annoying all the commercial brokers in the city trying to secure the lease," he said.
"Fans of Rose should be able to beat the stock market with an investment we're offering 11.25%," Gobel said.
Rose's revenue increased by 14% in 2023 and by 32% in 2024, according to its SMBX profile.
Rorabaugh recently made an award-winning cheese slice at the International Pizza Expo, which was held in Las Vegas in late March.
