Economic Development on Third finished a free tote bag giveaway and will distribute '49ers gold' tees to shoppers at participating Third Street businesses, screen printed by corridor manager Earl Shaddix. The Bayview Opera House at Third and Newcomb put up its Christmas tree and will host 'Love the City: Winter Wonderland' on Dec. 20 from noon to 6 p.m., with free family tickets. The Sunset Chinese Cultural District will give away free Christmas trees on Dec. 20, 1–4 p.m. at 155 Jennings St., offering first-come, first-serve trees plus free car-tying, EV test drives, and tacos. Los Angeles-based muralist Rod Benson painted new murals of Black characters along the corridor, including Princess Tiana at Third and Thomas, Storm near Third and Fairfax, and Huey Freeman. The Cargo Way bike lane has been swept after months of cement, glass, and tree branches, restoring safer riding conditions for cyclists.
