Arts festival serves up a global smorgasbord of performance
Briefly

The San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF), founded in 2003, showcases a blend of local and international art, featuring nearly 100 performances this year. Artistic director Andrew Wood highlights the festival's expansion into various local spaces—including cafes and internet provider offices—since returning to the Mission. This festival embraces a curatorial approach from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, ensuring each performance connects uniquely to its venue, celebrating diverse cultural expressions and local creativity from around the Bay Area and beyond, with acts like Duane Forrest’s reggae-themed performance highlighting the international flavor of the event.
"We put out the call, and the response was pretty amazing. We've expanded our footprint this year, and we've learned a lot about how to work with local businesses from last year."
"In returning to the neighborhood last year, the SFIAF has embraced a whole new approach to presenting dance, music, drama and performance art, carefully matching each act to an appropriate space."
