"'I don't drink, and it felt like I was going out of my mind, couldn't take it, so I drank,' Slimani explained during his testimony about the circumstances leading to his drink-driving offense."
"'I have been taking Nyquil for a flu which you may call long Covid that kept coming and going,' he added, indicating ongoing health challenges that contributed to his situation."
Chico, real name Yousseph Slimani, was convicted of drink-driving after consuming Famous Grouse whisky for six hours following the death of a friend. He was found to have 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit. The court imposed a 12-month driving disqualification and fines totaling 1,460.
