"The Tuscan-style home, built in 1991, backs up against South Mountain on nearly two acres in Ahwatukee neighborhood of Phoenix. Through a large porte-cochere, the home opens in grand fashion to a two-story foyer with a sweeping staircase leading to a second-floor balcony. Clad in detailed columns and marble flooring, the 7,859 square feet of living space includes a game room, a workout room, a steam room, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms."
"Henderson, 55, spent a quarter-century in the big leagues with nine different teams, including the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. A first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 2009, he ranks first all-time in stolen bases (1,406) and runs scored (2,295)."
"Outdoors, a pool and spa anchors the park-like grounds, which contain a courtyard, a sunken basketball half-court, an outdoor fireplace and a barbecue station covered by a ramada."
Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson has put his Tuscan-style Arizona home on the market for $2.4 million. The 7,859 square-foot residence, built in 1991 and located in Phoenix's Ahwatukee neighborhood, sits on nearly two acres backing against South Mountain. The property features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a game room, workout room, steam room, and luxurious master suite with private balcony. Outdoor amenities include a pool, spa, sunken basketball half-court, courtyard, and barbecue station. Henderson purchased the home from former Cubs star Ryne Sandberg in 1996 for $1.65 million, who had originally bought it in 1990 for $400,000.
