Over $4 million pours into San Francisco supervisor election, much of it from outside PACs
Millions of dollars are flowing into San Francisco’s June supervisor contests in District 2 and District 4, with substantial funding coming from multiple political action committees. At least eight PACs are involved, contributing $2.1 million toward preferred candidates. Third-party spending is surpassing money raised directly from donors, including in District 4 where PAC funds are nearly four times candidate-raised totals. Most PAC money supports incumbent supervisors Alan Wong and Stephen Sherrill. In District 2, PAC spending backing Sherrill comes from Mayor Daniel Lurie’s allies, GrowSF, and an anti-worker PAC, exceeding Sherrill’s $443,102 raised by donors with $663,000 in PAC spending. Several named PACs have spent or raised significant amounts, including SF Believes, GrowSF, and a committee supporting Sherrill, plus a labor-aligned PAC funded by multiple labor organizations.
"GrowSF's PAC for Sherrill, along with its voter guide, has spent over $203,500 so far. Another PAC named Committee to Support Supervisor Stephen Sherrill spent $76,000 to support Sherrill. Its top donor is Diana L. Nelson, director of an investment firm, who gave $15,000. A labor PAC, Working Families for Stephen Sherrill for Supervisor 2026, also recently jumped into the District 2 race, spending $18,465 for Sherrill."
