San Jose International Airport has maintained its reputation as the easiest airport in the Bay Area, despite a nearly 27% decline in passenger traffic since 2019. The airport's enhancements, including new restaurants and technologies, alongside its top-tier on-time arrival performance, make it a reliable choice for travelers. Additionally, voices in the community emphasize the importance of offering support to unhoused individuals, arguing that access to stable housing significantly impacts public health and safety. Concerns regarding a proposed solar bill highlight the risk of eroding voters' trust by increasing costs.
Having just flown through San Jose, I saw lots of new restaurants, great signage and new visual technologies deployed. San Jose International remains one of the very easiest in and out airports in our region.
Opposition I've seen doesn't reflect the values of a community that claims to care about safety. Housing is safety. I've seen firsthand how lack of stable housing leads to preventable hospital visits and long-term health harm.
We can reject the politics of cruelty and fear that dominate headlines. Let's lead with compassion and facts. This is a moment to show what kind of community we truly are.
Assemblymember Lisa Calderon's proposed AB 942 reneges on promises made to voters. It threatens to raise energy, housing costs, and comes at the expense of public trust.
