Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's stock trading activities, especially around Trump's tariff announcements, have drawn increased attention and criticism, including from fellow Republican Mike Lawler. He highlighted concerns about conflicts of interest and called for a ban on Congress members trading stocks. Lawler, a supporter of the TRUST in Congress Act, underscored the potential appearance of impropriety. Greene defended her actions, claiming her portfolio is managed by a financial advisor and asserting transparency, stating her trades are publicly reported.
Just another reason why stock trading by members of Congress or their spouses should be banned. The appearance of impropriety, or worse, is too great.
All of my investments are reported with full transparency. I refuse to hide my stock trades in a blind trust like many others do.
