Doug Emhoff, husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris, will join the USC Gould School of Law faculty to teach law students beginning July 1. With a law degree from USC, Emhoff previously taught at Georgetown University during his wife's vice presidency. He expressed enthusiasm about sharing experiences with students and emphasized the importance of mentoring during challenging times for the legal community, urging future lawyers to uphold justice and defend fundamental rights. This announcement coincides with Harris' consideration of a potential run for California governor.
One of the best parts of my time as Second Gentleman was spending time with these students and young people all around the country - so I look forward to continuing to share my experiences.
In this difficult moment for the legal community, I believe it is more important than ever to instill in the next generation of lawyers the same principles that drove me to the legal profession.
