Woman charged with alleged umbrella attack outside Google co-founder's house
Briefly

On March 24, 2023, Yun "April" Li, 50, allegedly assaulted two security guards outside the residence of Google co-founder Larry Page in Palo Alto. Li attempted to open one guard’s car door and subsequently struck another guard with an umbrella, leaving him with facial injuries. Concerns about Li's erratic behavior had previously been raised by her neighbors, prompting several to obtain restraining orders. The community is fearful, with increased security measures being adopted by residents. The incident underscores ongoing issues with Li's violent behavior and the need for legal action.
"It's such a bizarre thing, the way she behaves," Heimark said in an interview last month. Heimark said Li's behavior is a frequent topic of conversation in the neighborhood, and people are scared, including her nanny. Heimark and another neighbor have restraining orders against Li.
"I don't want to see anything bad to happen to her. I just want to feel safe," Heimark said. He added how she felt disheartened to hear about the violence of the alleged umbrella attack but is hopeful the legal system will find a permanent solution.
