
Community members gathered at the overpass in Vallejo where 15-year-old Pearl Pinson Rodriguez was last seen a decade earlier. Pearl disappeared while walking to school near her home. Supporters decorated the site and handed out pearl necklaces to symbolize remembrance and to show care for her memory. Her father, James Pinson, described ongoing uncertainty and coping with not knowing where she is. Witnesses reported Pearl was dragged into a car, and her father said law enforcement response was too slow, urging AMBER Alert law changes. Pearl’s body was never found. Authorities identified Fernando Castro as the suspect, and Pearl’s sister described hearing gunshots and Pearl being thrown into a car trunk. The suspect was later killed by police in Santa Barbara.
