A school resource deputy was alerted to a fight between two students near a Moreno Valley high school campus at 3:47 p.m. The sheriff’s office is investigating a report that the deputy used excessive force on a female student during the response. A video posted online shows the deputy forcibly yanking and pushing the student while attempting to restrain her after she pulled away. The student was on the ground as the deputy stood above her holding her hands, with other men nearby. Paramedics evaluated the student, and she was taken into custody for suspicion of battery and resisting arrest.
