Prep talk: Sherman Oaks Notre Dame pitcher Ainsley Jenkins knows who to call for writing help

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame advanced to the Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals in softball, with freshman pitcher Ainsley Jenkins playing a major role. In the Knights’ first two playoff wins over Anaheim Canyon and Oaks Christian, Jenkins was called from the bullpen and delivered exceptional relief pitching. The next game is a quarterfinal matchup against No. 2-seeded Norco at Franklin Fields in Encino. Norco is expected to rely on its top pitching duo, Coral Williams and Peyton May.
