Missing family's boat found in Alaska waters along with human remains

Nearly a year after suspending the search for a Texas family of four, the missing boat and human remains were discovered in Kachemak Bay, Alaska. The family, which included Mary and David Maynard and their two sons, disappeared when their boat capsized. Their search was initially launched in August but suspended after the US Coast Guard and rescue teams were unable to locate them. Three private companies took the initiative to search using sonar technology, ultimately leading to the recovery of the vessel and remains. An autopsy is underway for identification.
Divers from the state were able to recover three sets of remains from the sunken vessel... The remains have been taken to the state medical examiner's office.
The discovery came after three private Alaska companies... offered to help look for the family, who are from Texas.
The Coast Guard scoured Kachemak Bay and Alaska search and rescue crews tried to use sonar equipment to find the family... but they were not successful.
Christi Wells... said the family enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives, and traveling.
