Long Island varsity baseball team playing eighth graders with eyes on tomorrow
Briefly

The Locust Valley varsity baseball team is composed mainly of younger players, primarily middle school call-ups, with only two seniors on the roster. Manager Brian LoRusso emphasizes long-term growth over immediate results, as the team struggles with a 1-9 record. The young recruits, including eighth graders, are eager to learn from their older teammates, and they believe that as they mature, they will significantly improve their performance. This gradual development strategy aims to build a stronger future team that can compete effectively in their league.
When we're high schoolers, I believe that we could definitely dominate the league, we'll be bigger, stronger and more experienced than all the other guys.
Every time I see, like, some kid on the mound that throws a little above average for my age group, it can be scary, but I go to the other guys and they always help me.
