Clay had entered a not-guilty plea and had a murder charge dropped earlier. The infant died from injuries that prompted the investigation by local police and Sheriff's detectives.
Clay's defense attorney, Jeannette Garcia, argued against the delay, stating it was unjust for the case to be postponed when Clay had already faced significant time in custody.
