Grandma, 93, broke neck and died in London care home due to 'failings' in her care, daughter claims
Briefly

Paula Geeves-Booth, 93, tragically died from a neck fracture after falling from her bed in a South West London care home, Viera Gray House. Her daughter, Sarah, claims staff were aware of Paula’s vulnerability, as she had previously suffered falls due to a lack of assistance. An investigation revealed that a sensor intended to alert staff had been unplugged, resulting in no monitoring during critical hours. The Care Quality Commission found multiple failings at the home. Sarah asserts that her mother's death was preventable and blames poor management for the inadequate care provided.
Three awful falls she had. All of those falls could have been prevented. It happened because there were significant failings in that care home and my mother died as a result of it.
There's no reason why my mother couldn't have passed peacefully in her bed with me and her family around her, no reason other than their failure to keep her safe.
