Father and daughter who died on Maine mountain remembered as 'full of life, full of joy'
Briefly

Tim and Ester Keiderling, both of Ulster Park, NY, were found dead on Mount Katahdin after going missing during a hike. The search began on June 2, after their vehicle was discovered in the parking lot. Tim, 58, and Ester, 28, were remembered fondly for their vibrant lives, love for the outdoors, and close-knit relationship. They were part of the Bruderhof community, and Tim was known for his enthusiasm as an elementary school teacher. Family stated they faced severe weather conditions during their hiking trip, which ultimately led to their untimely deaths.
They were doing a day hike, a bucket list thing, to climb this amazing mountain. Both wonderful people, full of life, full of joy.
As a teacher, he will be remembered most for his infectious energy, his patient kindness, and his ability to pull together the most rambunctious groups of children.
