When the victim refused to comply, Dos Santos Mendes became angry and then sexually assaulted and raped the victim inside his vehicle."

Elias Rodrigues Dos Santos Mendes, 55, an undocumented immigrant, was sentenced to eight to ten years in state prison after pleading guilty to rape, assault, indecent assault and battery, and child pornography possession. In March 2024, he met an adult woman and her four children who had recently arrived in the United States. While offering to help them find housing, he requested the woman take nude photographs of her 12-year-old daughter for online sale and showed her explicit videos and photos of children. When she refused, he sexually assaulted and raped her in his vehicle. The victim reported the crime and provided a DNA sample that linked to the defendant. Police recovered child pornography on confiscated phones during their investigation. Following his sentence completion, Dos Santos Mendes will be deported to Brazil.
