Experiential learning week takes Bayhill students off campus
Briefly

During Experiential Learning Week, Bayhill High School students engaged in hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom. Programs included visits to the Animal Advocates, where they observed giraffes and learned about wildlife protection, and others like the Natural History group who explored local ecosystems. Students developed critical thinking and collaboration skills while gaining insights into pressing topics like conservation. The Culinary Adventures team examined the intersection of culture and food, emphasizing how culinary experiences shape identity and history. This initiative underlines the school's commitment to experiential education.
I never thought I'd get this up close and personal with giraffes in the Bay, said 11th grader Ty.
The week challenged them to think critically, work collaboratively, and return to school with a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of our ecosystems.
Experiential Learning Week invites students to step outside the traditional classroom and into immersive, interest-based experiences designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
Food can tell stories of place, history and identity.
