Acalanes High School football player Amin Noroozi, 17, passed away after complications from a swimming accident at Stinson Beach. Last Sunday, he dove into the ocean and struck his head on a sandbar, resulting in a spinal injury. Despite being sidelined by injuries during his junior year, Amin was known for his positivity and unwavering support for his teammates. Former coaches and community members expressed their condolences and admiration for him, with efforts to honor his memory through various tributes, including a candlelight vigil and his mother throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game.
Amin always had a great smile and was always positive... He’s the kind of kid that you build a football program around. His positive energy was pivotal even during injury.
This sudden loss is a shock to us all, especially given our hopes that things were moving in a different direction. We were all anticipating a different outcome.
We lost a great kid, but heaven gained an awesome angel... Amin's spirit and positivity impacted everyone around him during his time on the team.
A lot of kids when they're injured, they kind of disappear... He was always there rooting on the team, doing everything he could to help them win.
