Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed that he recorded parts of his new song, "The End," using his late father Eddie Van Halen's iconic Frankenstrat guitar. The track features guitar tapping reminiscent of Eddie's signature style, particularly from songs like "Hot for Teacher." Wolfgang expressed that using the guitar strengthens his connection to his fatherâs musical legacy. The single comes with a Robert Rodriguez-directed music video, featuring cameos from notable artists. Wolfgang also reflects on the sales of Eddie's other guitars at auction, noting the emotional impact of their value.
"Fun fact, I recorded the main tapping of the song, and the slap part with the Frankenstein! Makes me feel closer to Pop that such an important part of his history can live with mine every time I record."
Wolfgang put his guitar skills to the test on "The End," our Heavy Song of the Week selection this past Friday, showcasing his talent and connection to his father's musical legacy.
