The Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones have set a new standard in active noise-cancelling technology, surpassing their acclaimed predecessor, the WH-1000XM5. With a revamped foldable design, new processor, improved drivers, and additional microphones, the XM6 offers excellent sound quality and powerful noise-cancellation. Key enhancements include comfortable leatherette ear cups and a wider headband for better weight distribution. Despite its $450 price tag and a solid but not groundbreaking battery life of 30 hours, the XM6 remains highly competitive in the premium headphone market, appealing to audiophiles and casual users alike.
Sony's WH-1000XM6 outdoes its predecessor in just about every category, making them the headphones to beat this year, noise cancelling or otherwise.
Although the estimated 30 hours of battery life is solid, I'm always looking for more time off the charger.
Even little touches like a larger power button that's easier to press are worth appreciating. It's great to see Sony listened to feedback and made them foldable again.
At first glance, you may not notice all the refinements that Sony made to the XM6. But I assure you, they all add up to a more comfortable and polished pair of headphones.
