"Mothersbaugh, who continues to perform with Devo, became an acclaimed film and television composer after getting a call from Paul Reubens and working on "Pee-wee's Playhouse," which led to composing scores for multiple Wes Anderson films including "Rushmore," "The Royal Tenenbaums" and "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" as well as many extremely popular films and shows such as "Thor Ragnarok," "The Lego Movie," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," "Rugrats," and "A Minecraft Movie.""
SF Sketchfest runs January 15–February 1 and features a performance by The Red Room Orchestra with special guest Mark Mothersbaugh on Sunday the 18th at Great American Music Hall. A pair of tickets will be given away through the 48 Hills Daily newsletter; entry details are released starting Tuesday and entries must be received by Thursday at midnight. Mark Mothersbaugh rose from performing with Devo to composing acclaimed film and television scores after working on Pee-wee's Playhouse, composing for Wes Anderson films and many popular movies and shows. The Red Room Orchestra interprets and performs notable film and television soundtracks annually at SF Sketchfest.
