Dua Lipa brought Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong onstage at the Chase Center in San Francisco to perform a duet of "Wake Me Up When September Ends." A fan video shows Armstrong singing the first verse solo and Lipa joining on the chorus with the audience singing along. Dua Lipa said she selects a local song at each tour stop and praised one band for its rawness, authenticity, message and inclusivity. She said she listened to the album American Idiot as a child; that album was released in 2004 when she was nine. The show was the second of two Radical Optimism tour dates at the venue.
