Bay Area arts: 11 great shows and concerts to catch this weekend
"From Super Bowl fun to the return of a beloved conductor and the Odo akland Interfaith Gospel Choir, there is a lot to see and hear in the Bay Area this weekend and beyond. A stroke of luck for Swims fans Teddy Swims is set to headline the Super Bowl LX Tailgate Concert presented by NetApp the NFL's top pregame party at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 8."
"The Super Bowl is one of those events I grew up watching with my dad and brothers and have always dreamed of being at and performing, says Swims, who is known for the smash hit Lose Control and other popular songs. Vallejo hip-hop star LaRussell, who will also be performing as the in-stadium house band at Levi's on Super Bowl Sunday, is thrilled to be part of the festivities."
Bay Area events include a Super Bowl LX Tailgate Concert at Levi's Stadium on Feb. 8 headlined by Teddy Swims, with Vallejo hip-hop artist LaRussell opening and performing as the in-stadium house band. The concert will be live-streamed on Peacock at 12:50 p.m., and the audio will be broadcast on 120 iHeart stations and the iHeartRadio app. Classical offerings span Baroque to new works and feature returning conductor Nicholas McGegan leading programs for the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. Programming highlights include familiar Mozart repertoire, guest artists such as DiDonato, and a mix of established and newly commissioned pieces.
