Alice will end and be reborn as Clementina in mid-March with a fully celiac-safe kitchen. North Beach bakery Butter & Crumble plans a cake shop at 301 Union Street called The Cake Shop by Butter & Crumble, aiming to open by summer. Mel's Drive-In on Lombard suffered a serious kitchen fire and is closed indefinitely. Horn Barbecue faces multiple evictions, leaving its new Fresno site as the only open location.
