"It is unreal. It's like these Korean short rib sandwiches, but the buns are crispy rice. I'm an avid customer, as you know."
"Curry, who is currently rehabbing a bone bruise in his knee, ordered the original Koja - diced Korean barbecue short rib with a katsu aioli between garlic rice buns - co-owner Stephen Van confirmed to SFGATE. He also ordered the kamikaze fries, a blend of Korean barbecue beef, kimchi, Japanese mayonnaise and a house-made hot sauce over waffle fries."
"I was scrambling to find something for him to sign because I didn't have my Warriors hat with me. I texted my wife and she said, 'Just have him sign a napkin!' Right now, it's just in a Ziploc bag."
Steph Curry visited Koja Kitchen, a Bay Area Korean-Japanese fusion restaurant he has favored since 2019, at its location in Spark Social SF food truck park near Chase Center. He ordered the original Koja sandwich featuring Korean barbecue short rib with katsu aioli on garlic rice buns, along with kamikaze fries topped with Korean barbecue beef, kimchi, and house-made hot sauce. Co-owner Stephen Van, who was working that day after an employee called in sick, confirmed Curry's order and noted the Warriors star graciously took pictures and autographed a napkin for the restaurant. Van, still processing the encounter, currently keeps the signed napkin in a Ziploc bag and may frame it eventually.
