Entrepreneurial Cosplayers Sell 'Feet Juice' At Anime Convention
Two cosplayers at an anime convention event in San Jose offered customers a drink called “FRESH FEET JUICE.” They sat above coolers containing a mysterious red liquid and held signs advertising the product. Pricing was reported as $5 for a “swig” and $10 to $15 for licking the juice directly from their feet. Photos showed at least one customer accepted the offer, while at least one passerby reacted negatively and did not participate. The event occurred during FanimeCon, an annual anime-themed convention running since 1994 and drawing about 30,000 attendees. The scenario was framed as an unusual way to make money from willing customers.
"At an outdoor location, two cosplayers were photographed holding signs that read, “FRESH FEET JUICE,” while sitting above coolers containing both a mysterious red liquid and their feet. For $5 people could have a “swig,” and reportedly for $10 to $15 you could instead just lick the juice directly from their feet."
"The photos show that they received at least one willing customer, and that at least one passerby was not enticed: check out this dude's reaction."
"This is the deal being offered, report Spanish-language Fuji News on X, by two cosplayers at a U.S. convention. It appears to have taken place at an unofficial Park Con event as part of FanimeCon, which took place over the weekend in San Jose."
"The big annual anime-themed convention has been running since 1994, and attracts around 30,000 people. We're currently in the middle of an unprecedented May heat wave here in the UK, with the hottest-ever temperatures being recorded for this time of year, and right now I'm writing this with an air conditioner offering a futile fight against the heat in my office."
