Albertsons Companies has continued closing grocery stores across multiple states as it reevaluates its store footprint following a failed merger with Kroger. In 2026, at least a dozen locations have closed or been marked for closure based on local reporting, online review platforms, and the company’s store locator tools. Closures affect several banners, including Acme, Balducci’s, Randalls, Safeway, Vons, and Albertsons-branded stores.
