San Francisco marks Leather Month with citywide events and a September exhibition at Strut/Magnet (470 Castro Street) featuring Kegan Marling's leather-themed color photography. Marling, a Bay Area documentarian and arts programmer, photographs queer communities including play-gaymers, kinksters, drag artists, dancers, wrestlers, and faeries. Marling's work has appeared in multiple venues and publications and is part of San Francisco General Hospital's permanent collection. The exhibit 'HOLD ME IN THE EMBERS OF OUR LOVE' presents intimate family-style portraits of leather community members on Strut/Magnet's second floor during September visiting hours. LeatherWalk, a community fundraising walk founded in 1992, will take place September 21, 2025.
