Oasis Nightclub in San Francisco will cease operations on January 1, 2026, after over a decade of service. The closure is attributed to increasing operational costs and diminished attendance following the pandemic. Owner D'Arcy Drollinger expressed the decision was difficult but necessary for transformation. While the nightclub will close, the associated nonprofit film and video production studio, Oasis Arts, will continue to operate, expanding its focus to different venues across the Bay Area to promote queer artistry without location constraints.
"Life is about transformation. We transformed a historic building into a safe, joyful, and groundbreaking space for queer art and nightlife. Now, it's time to transform again."
"The hardest part of all of this is losing a physical space that means so much to so many people."
"With a renewed focus on presenting work in other venues across the Bay Area, Oasis will continue to celebrate and elevate queer artistry without the limitations of a single location."
"By closing the doors of the club, we're opening up a world of new possibilities."
