Talamante will co-emcee the event with The Ven. Miguel Bustos. Both are legendary leaders in their own right whose LGBTQ+ activism has made a significant positive impact, not only here in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also internationally."
"Olga Talamante recently completed her position as Interim President and CEO of the Greenlining Institute, where she served for the last eight months. She will now continue to serve on the institute's board. She is additionally the Executive Director Emerita of the Chicana Latina Foundation (CLF). Accompanied by a young immigrant friend, Olga Talamante spoke at the San Francisco Women's March (2018). She became the first Executive Director of CLF in January 2003, serving in that position until March of 2018."
"CLF's mission is the Empowerment of Chicanas/Latinas through their personal, educational, and professional advancement. In her position, she oversaw the granting of thousands of dollars to Latina college students and founded the organization's pioneering Leadership Institute that has graduated over 700 Latina social justice leaders. Prior to those fifteen years with CLF, she held various positions, including Regional Vice President, from 1986-2002, at INROADS, a career and leadership organization for students of color."
An inaugural Honoring LGBTQ+ Bay Area Latine Leaders event will be held October 24, 2025, in the Mission District, co-emceed by Olga Talamante and The Ven. Miguel Bustos. Olga Talamante recently completed an interim presidency and CEO role at the Greenlining Institute and will continue on its board. She is Executive Director Emerita of the Chicana Latina Foundation (CLF) and served as CLF's first Executive Director from January 2003 to March 2018. CLF empowers Chicanas/Latinas through personal, educational, and professional advancement. Talamante oversaw scholarships and founded a Leadership Institute that graduated over 700 Latina social justice leaders. Earlier she held leadership roles at INROADS from 1986–2002, and her family's migration from Mexico and farm work informed her labor and community activism.
