
The National Center for LGBTQ Rights held its annual Champions for Justice gala on May 16, 2026 at The Conservatory at One Sansome. Honorees included Paola Ramos, Captain Gordon Herrero, the Golden State Valkyries, Layshia Clarendon, and Jazz Jennings, receiving Voice and Visibility, Courage, and Vanguard awards. The emcee was comedian and writer Irene Tu. NCLR Executive Director Imani Rupert-Gordon spoke about recent achievements and challenges and outlined future plans. Entertainment was provided by Earth Circus Productions and DJ LadyRyan. The event recognized contributions supporting LGBTQ rights and justice.
