Los Gatos approves budget for upcoming fiscal year
Briefly

The town's budget for the upcoming fiscal year was unanimously approved on June 3, including measures to enhance revenue and control spending. Town Manager Chris Constantin presented the budget, which incorporates full use of Measure G sales tax funds and $900,000 from unassigned general funds. While the budget is balanced this year, a projected structural deficit of $900,000 raises concerns for the future. Staffing challenges, employee benefits, and capital obligations add financial pressures. Current projections allow the town to maintain full staffing of around 160 positions unless conditions change.
The budget is legally balanced, but the town has a structural imbalance which will grow if not addressed.
