Harry Potter star on JK Rowling: 'I don't understand who she is on Twitter'
Briefly

In a candid interview, Jason Isaacs, known for his role in Harry Potter, responded to questions surrounding JK Rowling's anti-trans views. While he distanced himself from her stance, stating he does not know her personally, Isaacs expressed his support for trans rights. He pointed out the complexities of discussing such issues as a straight white man and mentioned championing a trans comedian. Isaacs affirmed that if a vote were to take place on this matter, he knows which side he would support, highlighting the controversy surrounding Rowling’s views.
People want me to talk about JK Rowling's attitude to trans people all the time. And initially, I went, 'I don't know her well enough, and I'm a straight white man in late middle age, and it's not for me to opine on feminist and trans issues.'
I've heard her arguments when she explained herself in that seven-part podcast, The Witch Trials of JK Rowling, which I listened to. She says in that something like, 'I may be on the wrong side of history, but this is what I feel very strongly.'
I don't understand who she is on Twitter. But then that's true of almost anybody online. It's a place where people scream abuse at each other.
If there's a vote, I know which side I'll be voting.
