Airports in Moscow were closed as Ukrainian drones hit Kyiv, leading to a chaotic response despite a proposed U.S.-backed ceasefire deal that Russia has yet to accept. The proposal aims for a demilitarized zone, but Ukraine rejected a Russian offer for a three-day ceasefire. The drone attacks have caused significant disruptions in Moscow, prompting airport closures and impacting travel significantly. Additionally, in response to the drones, authorities shut down mobile data in over 30 Russian cities. Russia plans a major celebration for WWII's surrender anniversary, even as Ukraine escalates hostilities.
"Right now, probably, our impediment in progress is the president of Russia not agreeing to it," he told Fox News.
"The Kyiv regime continues to disrupt our peaceful celebrations, yet we are taking all necessary measures to ensure stability during these events," said Dmitry Peskov.
