Ukraine executed a series of drone strikes on Russian military airbases, deemed "Operation Trojan Trucks," aimed at bombers launching missiles into Ukraine. This well-planned operation involved smuggling drones in trucks and targeting bases across Russia, celebrated by Ukrainians as a significant retaliatory measure. The strikes were said to have destroyed $7 billion worth of Russian aircraft and were timed ahead of ceasefire talks. Ukrainian security chief Vasyl Malyuk emphasized that operations would persist as long as Russia continued attacks on Ukraine.
"The enemy has been bombing our country almost every night from these aircraft, and today they actually felt that retaliation is inevitable," said Vasyl Malyuk, the head of Ukraine's security services.
"Our strikes will continue as long as Russia terrorizes Ukrainians with missiles and Shaheds," said Malyuk, referring to the Iranian-designed drones used by Russia.
