Residents sought safety in subway stations as blasts echoed across the city. Mayor Klitschko reported that two individuals required hospitalization, with at least eight others injured. Reports confirmed drone and missile debris fell on residential areas, igniting fires. This attack occurred shortly after a prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia, where both sides exchanged 390 individuals, further escalating tensions between the nations.
"Explosions in the capital," Klitschko wrote on Telegram. "Air defenses have been activated. The city and the region are under a combined enemy attack."
The head of the capital's civil and military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported two blazes in the Sviatochynskyi district... and drone debris falling on a residential building in the Solomianskyi area.
