Russian Drone Attacks In Ukraine's Kherson Amount To War Crimes, Says UN
Briefly

The United Nations report from the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine reveals that Russia's military engaged in war crimes and crimes against humanity in Kherson. The report indicates that Russian forces targeted civilians in drone attacks, resulting in nearly 150 deaths and numerous injuries. The attacks aimed to instill fear among the population and violated international law by also targeting ambulances. Despite losing ground in Kherson, Russian bombardments have persisted from the east bank of the Dnieper River, causing further civilian suffering.
Russian armed forces have committed the crimes against humanity of murder and the war crimes of attacking civilians, through a months-long pattern of drone attacks targeting civilians on the right bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson Province.
The Russian attacks were committed with the primary purpose to spread terror among the civilian population, in violation of international humanitarian law.
Nearly 150 civilians have been killed in the drone campaign that the commission said started in the summer of 2024; and hundreds more wounded.
Ambulances, which are protected under international law, have also been targeted.
